THAYER SARRANO
(The 40 Watt Club)
June 23, 2015 (Tuesday) - A gifted artist. A classic venue. Thayer Sarrano will perform live at the 40 Watt Club this Friday (June 26) in Athens GA. This event is part of the proceedings of AthFest, which annually showcases the ever-vibrant musical community of Athens, GA. We originally shared this event from the 40 Watt's Facebook Page. Below is the original event image. It depicts the headliners for that evening, Cracker, that most robust and stalwart of bands, led by Johnny Hickman and David Lowery. Thayer Sarrano's ensemble opened the show. She herself then joined Cracker, playing keys, percussion, and offering backing vocals. Sadly, sound difficulties cut short and caused the omission of "Almond Grove" -- a cut from Cracker's Berkeley to Bakersfield album -- a song for which Thayer provided vocal harmonies, among other studio contributions, on other tracks. Cracker released the Berkeley to Bakersfield double-LP in 2014 on 429 Records. You can watch the video for that particular slice of Cracker Soul -- "Almond Grove" -- right here.
