THAYER SARRANO
(CMJ)

CMJ

August 14, 2015 (Friday) - Most grateful are we for this article and interview appearing in the esteemed CMJ featuring Thayer Sarrano and her new song "Touch My Face." We wish to express our sincere thanks to author Eric Davidson, for taking the time, and making the space in their highly regarded pages, to tell tale of her forthcoming album -- Shaky -- due out two weeks from this very day. After a busy week, we expected a Friday slow on the news, rinse, and spin cycle. We were thus pleasantly unprepared for such good tidings. Thank you.

THAYER SARRANO
(On Tour)

Cracker

August 14, 2015 (Friday) - The band Cracker is currently making a dash along the northeastern seaboard, another leg on a tour stretching from winter, spring, summer, and back to fall, culminating at the end of this month with Campout Featuring Camper Van Beethoven & Cracker. Today, Friday, they take to the Volksplatz Stage in Bethlehem, PA. Tomorrow, Saturday, Thayer Sarrano will open the show in Woodstock with her own set, and then join Cracker (as before) for theirs, playing keys of ebony and ivory. Denizens far and wide should make their way to the Bearsville Theater Woodstock, NY.

Thayer Sarrano - CHIRP Radio
CHIRP Radio (Chicago, IL)

August 14, 2015 (Friday) - The DJs of CHIRP - Chicago Independent Radio Project took "Crease" for another spin yesterday, a cut from Thayer Sarrano, off her forthcoming LP -- Shaky -- due out August 28, 2015. Considerable thanks to Gillian J, DJ Stevo, and Eugene Cabanban. Gillian J situated "Crease" on a playlist that also featured "Waka" from Camper Van Beethoven, helping us prepare, no doubt, for the upcoming Campout Featuring Camper Van Beethoven & Cracker. DJ Stevo played Thayer's track near "Watermelon Man," a classic by the mighty Herbie Hancock, an icon whose many albums (too many to recount) are revered here on our desk. (DJ Stevo was also bold enough to bring out Thayer's "Aim" just a few seconds ago, making us scramble to update this post, as yet unpublished, in real-time!) Eugene Cabanban featured "Crease" not far away from "Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside)" from My Bloody Valentine, and "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" from the late Ol' Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan. We actually prefer ODB's "Brooklyn Zoo," and My Bloody Valentine's "Only Shallow." But our preferences are of little consequence.

Thayer Sarrano - Indie Minded

August 13, 2015 (Thursday) - Indie Minded shines a welcomed light upon "Touch My Face," the latest cut from the forthcoming album -- Shaky -- by Thayer Sarrano. We owe gratitude to Kelly Murphy for enlightening the masses. Indie Minded maintains a footprint in both Boston and the UK. Coincidence is (or is it?) Cracker finds itself performing on the shorelines of Bean Town this very day. We would be remiss, then, not to highlight such a fact. Bostonians! What could be better than world-class music in a harbor setting? The Gentlemen (David, Johnny, Bryan, Pistol, Carlton) and the Lady (Thayer Sarrano) of Cracker will astound.

Thayer Sarrano - Bucketful of Nails

August 13, 2015 (Thursday) - Thank you -- Bucketful of Nails -- for taking up pen on behalf of a newly unveiled track from Thayer Sarrano. In evocation of her roots in coastal southern Georgia, the author portrays the artist as "a siren of the cypress swamp." The new cut itself -- "Touch My Face" -- is said to conjure up "the mystical side of Stevie Nicks" with "overdriven guitars." Quite nice! The new album -- Shaky -- is scheduled for official release August 28, 2015.

Five Fingertips - Midwest Record

August 12, 2015 (Wednesday) - A Special Bulletin from The Guildwater Group. We sincerely wish to thank Chris Spector of the Midwest Record for writing about the music of Five Fingertips. Regarding the eponymous new album, we quote: "Well produced indie pop or those looking for new sounds for dorm hallways as the new school year approaches." This is the first appearance of Five Fingertips in print media.

August 11, 2015 (Tuesday) - Impatiently have we waited to break out this new photograph of Thayer Sarrano, by Jason Thrasher, of Thrasher Photo & Design. We thank Alexander Laurence of The Portable Infinite, doubly, for going back to the same well twice -- the music of Thayer Sarrano -- and giving us good occasion, good excuse, for doing so ourselves. You may recall the coverage The Portable Infinite gave to her first track "Crease," back on July 8. If you do not, please know that we certainly do, as mentioned previously. Now in the spotlight is the dirge fuzz-fest of "Touch My Face." Many thanks to The Portable Infinite, and their continued support for the music of Thayer Sarrano.

Thayer Sarrano

August 11, 2015 (Tuesday) - Hats off, and caps doffed to Paste Magazine for the generous space, prose, and understanding devoted to the music of Thayer Sarrano. The article delves deeply into her career and the saga behind her forthcoming album release -- Shaky -- due out August 28, 2015. The article features ample quotes from the artist herself, and even track-master Drew Vandenberg of Chase Park Transduction.

Of her luxuriant use of reverb, Thayer Sarrano states: "To me, it makes it exist in the world where it was written. It helps communicate where the melody comes from, the way it has to happen. Like, it happened outside in a cave, at least in my mind, so it has to sound that way. I feel like I’m on the edge of a cliff when I am singing, so I’d like it to sound like that.”

August 11, 2015 (Tuesday) - Same Picture. Different Song. Different Day. Considerable thanks to Elmore Magazine for springing the track "Touch My Face" by Thayer Sarrano, another cut from her forthcoming album -- Shaky. The LP is scheduled for official release later this month -- August 28, 2015. Elmore Quote: "As the jittery guitar growls and the throbbing bass lurches, you get the feeling that Thayer Sarrano‘s “Touch My Face” is moving in a circle, spiraling ever downward into a deep reservoir of darkness – a reservoir you want to sink into. …Bringing this palette to a canvas that includes country, psych, Southern Gothic, even industrial, it’s easy to imagine this song scoring True Detective‘s first season." Thanks to the talents of Bill Benson of Team Clermont for bringing reviews and articles such as this to fruition.
