March 15, 2017 (Wednesday) - Most things in life (including often life itself) are indefensible before lunchtime, and should be prohibited by federal law. If you had, however, a choice of fuzz with your brunch of eggs Benedict, crumpets, scones, tea or coffee, it would be preferable that it be the boot of Thayer Sarrano stepping on the pedal board. With a ready, set, go-time of 11:40 am, Sarrano launches her round of appearances at the music industry bonanza known as South by Southwest (SXSW), situated in the state of Texas. At that unruly hour, Thayer performs at the local branch of the Weather Up in Austin. Other artists appearing here will be (listed alphabetically): Belle Adair, Nicole Atkins, Kirby Brown, Paul Cauthen, Dan Dyer, Jesse Ebaugh and the Tender Things, Donnie Fritts, The Kernal, The Texas Gentlemen, Jonathan Tyler, and John Paul White. This showcase is hosted by American Songwriter Magazine and Single Lock Records.

At the more godly hour of 6:30 pm, Thayer Sarrano will then perform at Big Bang. Other acts participating there are (listed alphabetically): Acid Tongue, Chief Scout, Count Vaseline, Daddy Issues, The Dexateens, The Head, Ice Cream, Radiator King, Trashclub, and White Reaper. This particular SXSW showcase is sponsored by Baby Robot Media and Impose Magazine.

Next, on Saturday, March 18th, at 2pm, after lunch, Thayer Sarrano will join the festivities of Athens In Austin 2017 - To Eleven! Bands associated with this event, sponsored by the Georgia Theatre, will be (listed alphabetically): Chief Scout, DEEP STATE, The Dexateens, Eureka California, Juan de Fuca, Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires, Mothers, Muuy Biien, Neighbor Lady, The Nude Party, Oak House, White Violet, and Cindy Wilson.   

March 11, 2017 (Saturday) - Thayer Sarrano performs at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles. Sarrano last performed in environs and climes Californian in support of her album Shaky in late 2015. You can read about those exploits, constituting part of her West Coast Tour 1.0, in our musty (but always fresh) Guildwater Archives. Relevant to the event poster found above -- image by Thrasher Photo -- we again remind our unfaithful readers that his Athens Potluck is forthcoming 2017. More than a few of the images from the Thrasher book find themselves ensconced at the Georgia Theatre, including one, we are told, of Thayer Sarrano.

After this jaunt to the West Coast, Sarrano heads next week to the Lone Star State of Texas, to offer four separate performances in two intertwined festivals. She will participate in the music industry bonanza that is South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin. Thayer will intersperse those SXSW shows with a visit to the Luck Reunion on Thursday, March 16th. There she will offer a song as part of the broader Luck Sessions video series, in the ranch studio of Willie Nelson, to be duly filmed by Curtis Wayne Millard. This is the photographer and designer of Curtis Wayne Millard Studio -- he of the recent Sarrano "Thieves" video, as premiered by the Huffington Post last month. You should also recognize the photographic work of CWM Studio as found in this Rolling Stone feature, detailing the history of Willie Nelson and his immortal guitar -- "Trigger." If you are attentive in your visit to the websites of Willie and Curtis Wayne -- we almost wrote "Willie, Waylon, and Me" out of habit, the "me" being not "we" Guildwater Scriveners, but David Allan Coe, in all due deference -- and your viewing of the Rolling Stone feature, you should have little trouble discovering the images of which we speak.

Regarding the appearances of Thayer Sarrano at SXSW, she will perform at Big Bang, in a showcase hosted by Baby Robot Media and Impose Magazine on Wednesday (3/15). That very same day she will also perform at Weather Up, in a showcase hosted by American Songwriter Magazine and Single Lock Records. Thayer Sarrano will then participate in the Athens in Austin Showcase, as organized by the Georgia Theatre, on Saturday (3/18), at the Side Bar. Busy times out on the big ranch of Texas.
