THAYER SARRANO
(Shaky Release)

Thayer Sarrano - Paste Magazine

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - It was a pleasure for us to read the fine review appearing in Paste Magazine, by Eric R. Danton, of the new album -- Shaky -- by Thayer Sarrano. Quote: "It’s not even that Sarrano is dark so much as that she seems to have an instinctive ability to spin everyday emotions into potent vignettes of an unsettled soul. It’s powerful . . . and anything but shaky." We thank you both, Mr. Danton and Paste. The new album is out tomorrow on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play, in addition to numerous other outlets, plus streaming services -- Friday, August 28, 2015. Here are a few streaming services for your delectation: eMusic, Groove, iHeartRadio, JB Hi-Fi, Medianet, Rhapsody, Shazam, Slacker Radio, Spotify, and Tidal.

Thayer Sarrano - Field Note Stenographers

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - It was a pleasure to read a write-up by Justin Cutway of Fieldnote Stenographers, who gave coverage to a recent Thayer Sarrano performance at the Cox Capitol Theatre. There -- in Macon, GA -- she opened proceedings for the riveting Kishi Bashi, who was himself joined by Tall Tall Trees. Thayer, according to the author, began with a few "hauntingly angelic" acoustic numbers. "But when her drummer and guitar player came out and she picked up her electric guitar, things started to take on a much more physical texture." The guitarist and drummer in question were Dan Nettles of Kenosha Kid and Seth Hendershot, respectively. Thanks for the fine article. Here are some upcoming shows (with more to be added later) with Thayer Sarrano, either solo or with her band, in support of her new album -- Shaky -- due out Friday, August 28, 2015.

08/25 - Pappy & Harriet's (Pioneertown, CA)
09/17 - Sky City (Augusta, GA)
09/18 - Seney-Stovall Chapel (Athens, GA)
09/23 - Berry College (Mount Berry, GA)
09/25 - The 5 Spot (Nashville, TN)
09/29 - Petra's (Charlotte, NC)
10/02 - Soundbox Tavern (Simpsonville, SC)
10/09 - Rockwood Music Hall (NY, NY)

Thayer Sarrano - Stomp & Stammer
Stomp & Stammer (Atlanta, GA)

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - Many thanks to Jeff Clark of Stomp and Stammer, who, in a recent write-up described the new album -- Shaky -- by Thayer Sarrano as "jolting with organic voltage," and "sheathed with a foggy swamp gauze." We quite liked that description, as well as the general gist of the article in which it appeared. Thank you! The new LP is scheduled for official release tomorrow -- Friday, August 28, 2015.

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - With the release this very Friday (Tomorrow!) of the new album -- Shaky -- by Thayer Sarrano, it is a good time, indeed, to extend thanks to all those writers who gave coverage to the artist over the last two months. Here, we have in mind, in particular, all those writers who, alas, for one reason or another, initially escaped our gaze and were only clearly drawn to our attention earlier this week, by a memorandum from Team Clermont. Belated gratitude is better than none at all, so runs our thinking.

Moving chronologically, thanks to Lauren G of Listen Here Reviews, who, on that website blog, helped to break news of Thayer's new album, as far back as June 29th. Lauren subsequently gave attention to the release of the tracks "Crease" and "Touch My Face," for which we are also appreciative. Thanks to MAGNET Magazine for sharing "Crease" via their website back in July. Thayer Sarrano herself welcomed the news on her own Facebook page, when the article first went to press. We would be remiss not to mention it here as well. Equal thanks are extended to TUNED UP, who covered the "Crease" release in an entry on their website, back in July. Additional thanks to Faronheit, who on July 9th shared that same track in a website column known as "Pick Your Poison." More recently, in this month of August, David Stallard of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine included the "Crease" cut in their regular website feature known as "Trail Mix," which showcases new music from a variety of artists. Similarly, Steven Spoerl of Heartbreaking Bravery was kind enough to share Thayer's "Touch My Face" in a blog entry devoted to fresh sounds emanating from a wealth of musicians.

Once again, although we of the Guildwater Group often feel like a broken record, extending "thanks" and doffing caps in all directions, it is best that we do so, and that these writers understand how much we appreciate their time, and their spreading the word of Thayer Sarrano's new LP. Thank you!

Five Fingertips - Pittsburgh in Tune

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - A Special Bulletin from The Guildwater Group: We would very much like to thank Jeffrey Sisk of Pittsburgh in Tune, for his generous write-up of the new Five Fingertips album! Sisk Quotation: "Among the highlights here are the opening tandem of 'The Lines' and 'Time Is Tasteless,' as well as 'The Blue Cliff Record,' 'The Poster Children,' 'Holiday' and 'The Swerve.'" Many thanks. We are pleased to know an author finds so many highlights! We extend gratitude on behalf of the artist!

Five Fingertips - babysue

August 27, 2015 (Thursday) - A Special Bulletin from The Guildwater Group: We interrupt this literary and artistic salon that Five Fingertips insists on maintaining here, despite our wishes to the contrary. We extend thanks to babysue for the link given via their Twitter Feed (@babysue) to the new album from Five Fingertips, back on August 25th. Thanks! This can only mean a review is imminent. We look forward.

Thayer Sarrano - Movement Magazine

August 24, 2015 (Monday) - Belated thanks are due once again to Thomas Bellflower of Movement Magazine, for giving attention to "Touch My Face" by Thayer Sarrano, a newer cut from her forthcoming album -- Shaky -- due out this very Friday. Just when we thought that little about her new record escaped our nets, we learn otherwise, and twice on the same day. Thank you, Movement Magazine, for the generous coverage.

Thayer Sarrano - Movement Magazine

August 24, 2015 (Monday) - Many thanks to Thomas Bellflower of Movement Magazine for covering the song "Crease" by Thayer Sarrano, a track from her forthcoming album -- Shaky -- due out this very Friday. Our apologies to Mr. Bellflower as well, for having taken so long to share this here on our desk. We thought our dragnets were rather refined, and that we dredged up nearly everything on the worldwide web fit to share about Thayer's new record. We overlooked this one! A belated thank you!

Thayer Sarrano - Flagpole Magazine

August 21, 2015 (Friday) - Thanks to Flagpole Magazine and author Gabe Vodicka for featuring new music from Thayer Sarrano, in this case "Touch My Face," a cut from the forthcoming album -- Shaky -- whose official release is a week from this very day (August 28, 2015). The article also highlights new music from other Athenian musicians, such as Mothers and Houston in the Blind, demonstrating the vibrancy of the community. Thank you.
