THAYER SARRANO
("When You Come Down" Alt-Take)

Cracker - Berkeley to Bakersfield

July 24, 2015 (Friday) - Listen to the previously unreleased alternate vocal take of "When You Come Down," featuring Thayer Sarrano, from the double album -- Berkeley to Bakersfield (429 Records) -- from that most stalwart of bands, Cracker. When the man (David Lowery) who wrote and sang "Take the Skinheads Bowling," and "Eye of Fatima (Pt. 1)," and "She Divines Water," and "All Her Favorite Fruit" -- and, and, and -- loans out the microphone, there must be good reason. Thayer's new album release -- Shaky -- is a little over a month away (August 28, 2015). Pre-Orders -- June 30, 2015! If you are out in the Midwest, now would be a good time to catch Cracker on tour. Their keyboardist (Thayer) is first-rate, like the rest of the band. And she will herself be opening Cracker's show at Shank Hall tomorrow (Saturday, July 25, 2015) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Many thanks to Cracker for their generosity and support in kindly sharing this track.

Thayer Sarrano - Shaky

July 24, 2015 (Friday) - "Crease" from Thayer Sarrano makes Press Play, a monthly recap of tunes and jingles featured by the music news outlet The Vinyl District. We should note that Bill Wither's "Grandma's Hands" was also on the track listing. We like Mr. Withers, and not just "Lean on Me," either. Thanks to The Vinyl District for this inclusion.

Lie in the Sound is a music-blog Deutschland compatriot of Coast is Clear. The former is located in Berlin, the latter from Kiel. We thank them both for their recurrent support of the music of Thayer Sarrano. Living proof that she has been going global since 2009....

Thayer Sarrano - Flagpole Magazine

July 21, 2015 (Tuesday) - Generous words about Thayer Sarrano from Gordon Lamb of Flagpole Magazine, situated within the broader sweep of an article about Tedo Stone and other happenings on the Athens music scene. Quote: "...Thayer Sarrano has a new album coming out Aug. 28. It’s entitled Shaky, and its lead single is “Crease.” It’s a heavily layered track of the sort we’ve come to expect from Sarrano. Distinctly, though, “Crease” is the sound of urgency cuffed to its own reserve. When the song builds and builds and, at the 1:47 mark, the vocals double up in a reverb swell, it’s more like the emotion is collapsing in on itself, rather than bustin’ loose. Listen at least a couple of times to see what I mean. It’s a hell of an effect and makes for a very cool listening experience." Thank you, Flagpole Magazine. Please visit: Thayer Sarrano.
